CAPE 1880’s-90’s VICTORIAN
An outstanding Victorian double layered cape in wool and silk. Dating from around 1880-90 it has a brown wool designs on an open black net background. The black fleur-de- lis are quite worn, they were once silk velvet on a cotton base. The net background is quite strong, it has a few minor holes and it is fixed at the neck by hooks and eyes concealed with a black silk bow. The inside around the shoulder area is lined with a padded striped silk.
