Beadwork Embroidered Victorian Firescreen

    This Victorian tapestry with glass bead work is in a remarkable state of preservation with no wear or discolouration or loss of beads to the front. I suspect the piece of work has spent its entire life in a drawer to be in this condition, only the back where the silk is showing signs of deterioration let’s you know for sure it is actually a Victorian embroidery. This would have been done originally to be mounted onto a fire screen but could easily be mounted using the original brass hooks at the top back.

  It is very rare to find a piece of 1880’s needlework in this condition.
